Dental Crowns: The Benefits

Posted .

If you have an extremely damaged or decayed tooth, there are a number of options you should consider. For example, a crown is a solution you may want to explore. You see, crowns are custom made to look, feel, and function like your natural teeth.

Still, you will have to care for your crown once it is part of your smile. Once your crown is placed, your smile will look like it did before it was damaged. A dental crown can also be used to help prevent weakened teeth from cracking—or from cracking further. However, our team might need time to prepare your custom crown. In the meantime, we will offer you a temporary crown to protect your tooth.

There are quite a few benefits that come with a temporary crown. The temporary crown is bound to your damaged tooth with an adhesive. Naturally, this temporary adhesive will be removed once your permanent crown is ready to be placed. Furthermore, while your temporary crown is important, please know that they won’t be made of the same material as your permanent crown. Still, this temporary crown will hold your damaged tooth in place, protect it, and restore the function and appearance of your smile.

Our dentist, Dr. Kimberly Fee, and our team will happily inspect your pearly whites and help you decide if a dental crown is right for you in Prescott, Arizona.
